The Church in Society Board functions in partnership with the ELCA Division for Church in Society, the region,
congregations, and social ministry organizations.
In order to accomplish our three-fold
mission of study, service, and advocacy, the Board for Church in Society works through
special task forces, Lutheran Offices of Governmental Ministries, ELCA affiliated Social
Ministry Organizations, and special synod projects and organizations, e.g. Urban and
Border Servant Corps.
