Second Sunday in Lent
Hope beyond all human
hope, you promised descendants as numerous as the stars to old
Abraham and barren Sarah. You promise light and salvation in the
midst of darkness and despair, and promise redemption to a world that will
not listen. Gather us to yourself in tenderness, open our ears to
listen to your word, and teach us to live faithfully as people
confident of the fulfillment of your promises. We ask this in the name
of Jesus Christ. Amen

Follow the Road to Emmaus The ELCA Board of
Pensions is promoting a new walking and wellness campaign for the 2007
Easter season called The Road to Emmaus.
The road to Emmaus
(Luke 24: 13 – 49) is the story of two disciples, who, unknowingly, share
their journey with Christ, and experience all dimensions of well- being –
physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual and vocational.
Life balance is vital as we seek to be good stewards of our mind,
body and spirit. During the seven weeks of Easter (April 8 – May 26),
Road to Emmaus participants are invited to walk and reflect on how
the story relates to each dimension of their well-being, then select a
dimension which they feel is in need of balance and create a goal to help
them on their wellness journey.
Promotional materials, including
two ads, an article and a poster, are available for congregations and
individuals who would like to participate in the campaign. Please visit
the website at www.elcabop.org.
