Prayers and Celebrations

Fifth Sunday in Lent

God of all consolation and compassion,
your Son comforted the grieving sisters Martha and Mary; your breath alone brings life to dry bones and weary souls. Pour out your Spirit upon us, that we may face despair and death with the hope of resurrection and faith in the One who called Lazarus forth from the grave.
Amen

An "Epic Telling" of the Gospel of John's Post-Resurrection Stories

WHEN: Saturday, May 17, 2008, 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 12099 Lowell Blvd., Broomfield

WHO: Members of DANG! the Denver-Area NOBS (Network of Biblical Storytellers) Guild will be telling/performing the story.  All interested persons are invited to come and see, listen, behold!

WHAT: "Epic Telling" of John 20-21 (Post-Resurrection Story). An epic telling is a unique experience where a sizable chunk of Bible (with a large enough group, it can be an entire book, such as the Gospel of Mark), is divvied up among several people, each of whom learns by heart a small piece of the scripture-story, and then all get together and tell the entire biblical story, passing it in turn from teller to teller.

The performance will be followed by discussion of this biblical storytelling experience. Light refreshments will be served. Any questions, contact Pam Faro at pamfaro@juno.com, or 303-828-2267.  [You are invited and welcome to attend the March 10 DANG meeting (see above) to learn more about this event, and/or how to get involved, if you're interested.]
