Rainbow
Trail Lutheran Camp would like to offer you a great
opportunity to strengthen the financial health of your
congregation and it will cost you absolutely nothing
other than a little time.
Rainbow
Trail received a generous $50,000 Charitable Gifting
grant from Thrivent to help to educate individuals about
planned giving.
Three free, identical seminars will be offered on
Monday May
5, Tuesday May 6, and Wednesday May 7,
starting each evening with dinner at 6:00 pm. Check-in will
begin at 5:00 pm.
Each training event will conclude at 1:00 pm the
next day. All meals and lodging will be provided at

three identical 24-hour events will introduce you to the
different ways that your people can make planned gifts
to your congregation and give you the tools and a plan
for preparing your people to make these types of
gifts. They
will also give the framework to establish an endowment
for your congregation. These educational and training
seminars are geared for the Pastor and the key
leadership from your congregation such as your council
president and/or the chair of your finance
committee.
Reserve
your spot now for the seminar that best fits your

Celebrating Planet
Earth |
Earth Day
2008
Earth Day is a name used for two different
observances, both held annually during spring in the
northern hemisphere, and autumn in the southern
hemisphere. These are intended to inspire awareness of
and appreciation for the Earth's environment. The United
Nations celebrates Earth Day, which was founded by John
McConnell in 1969, each year on the March equinox, while
a global observance originated by Gaylord Nelson as an
environmental teach-in, and since January 1970 also
called Earth Day, is celebrated in many countries each
year on April 22. Read more
about Earth Day's history.

A Fun
Event for USC!!!
(and
we're not talking about the prayer
walk/servant stomp!)
The Colfax Marathon is Sunday, May
18. Come run, walk, or just plain
help out to raise money for the Urban Servant Corps at
the 3rd Annual Colfax Marathon! If you haven't
heard of this relatively new marathon yet, check it
out! A first year relay runner
for USC found the marathon to be an amazing
experience. And what better way to raise money for
the USC! If you are not able to run/walk/volunteer
you can also send a donation to the USC office 1660
Ogden St. Denver, CO
80218.
Please remember to note USC as your Charity when
registering, once you register you can not go back and
add a charity. If you have already registered for the
marathon you can still raise money for the USC but you
won't be registered as an UCS runner...but we will still
accept you! And drop us a line if you have any
questions.
Urban Servant Corps is a Charity Partner
of the Post-News Colorado Colfax Marathon! The Colfax
Marathon invites non-profit organizations to join as
Charity Partners, as a way to fundraise for their
organization while recruiting runners, walkers, and
volunteers for the marathon, half marathon, and team
relay race.
