Companion Synod Sunday in the Rocky Mountain Synod is Nov. 20 (the third Sunday in November) or whenever it works in your planning schedule.
Things you might do to lift up our Companion Synod relationship with the Mahajanga and Antsiranana Synods of the Malagasy Lutheran Church in Madagascar:
- Use the following prayer petition or one of your own in worship:
“Dear God of all, we give thanks to you for our brothers and sisters of the Mahajanga and Antsiranana Synods in Madagascar who walk as companions in faith. As we are inspired to share our gifts with them help us to be mindful of the gifts of hospitality, family, joy in worship and energy for evangelism that they have shared with us. As we walk this road together with our companions in discipleship guide our hearts and our minds ever towards new life in Christ.”
- Take a special offering to
support Buildings for Betela through the Seeds of Hope Fund of the Rocky
Mountain Synod. Currently $26,000 is needed to fully fund the second phase of

- Invite one of the 28 people
who went on the Madagascar trip in June, 2005 to speak to your congregation.
- Support the work of Manna which empowers impoverished women in Madagascar by selling unique Malagasy handcrafted items that can be sent to you. (No cost to the congregation except for what is sold.) Visit Manna Madagascar Project
