October 9-11 Lutheran Campus Ministry (UNM) hosted 37 students from UNM, CNM, NMSU, NAU and ASU who were in Albuquerque for the Lutheran Student Movement Desert SW Regional Retreat.
There was time for homework, a cook-out at Luther House, worship, and a visit from Malory Hendrickson, a Global Mission Volunteer recently returned from Cuernavaca, Mexico. They also elected Regional LSM Officers.
The retreat included a trip to the Balloon Fiesta, and service-learning with Hunger Grow Away.
They helped plant another garden at Luther House (the home of UNM Lutheran Campus Ministry), made tumbleweed soup, and learned more about their work combating hunger with low water vegetable gardens.
