Rocky Mountain Synodical
Women's Organization
How do I submit a donation?
As a non-profit organization, our ability to share the Word of God is supported entirely by your generosity. Your donation will support our ministry and help cover administrative costs.
-
How an individual can make donations
Individuals are encouraged to make their donation through their local unit. Local ministry programs should be supported first. Generally, most local units send a part of your donation on to the Rocky Mountain Synodical Women's Organization to support our ministry throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Then in turn, part of your donation is sent on to the churchwide Women of the ELCA to support our ministry nationally and internationally. If there is not a local unit to which you can contribute your donation, you can send it directly to the RMSWO treasurer at the address supplied at the bottom of this page.
-
How a WELCA unit can make donations
Contributions to the Rocky Mountain Synodical Women's Organization to support ministry throughout the Rocky Mountain region should be sent to the RMSWO Treasurer at the address at the bottom of this page. Part of the donation we receive from your unit is sent on to the churchwide Women of the ELCA to support national and international ministry programs.
Units are encouraged to fill out Forms A & B found in the Stewardship packet sent out by the churchwide WELCA office each Summer. Look for a new packet in July or August. More information about these forms below...

Other Related Organizations I can donate to
How can I support Women of the ELCA?
There are four standard ways to give to Women of the ELCA
-
Regular Offerings
Regular Offerings are annual offerings that provide ongoing income for the "core work" and ministries of Women of the ELCA: more than 500,000 participants living out our purpose statement in 7500 congregations, 600 conferences and clusters, 64 synodical women's organizations, and the churchwide women's organization. These donations ensure that the work of the Women of the ELCA continues.
-
Thankofferings
Thankofferings are annual offerings that reflect on how we have been blessed by the Lord and are used to help support ministry work for Women of the ELCA locally and internationally. More>
-
Special Gifts
Special Gifts are normally one-time gifts made as a memorial or for a special project. Legacy of Love gifts fall in this category including gifts to Katie's Fund to provide grants to programs focusing on women and children in crisis and scholarships for theological and lay training for women.
-
Designated Gifts
Designated Gifts support specific ministries on a three year cycle. These ministries are selected by the ELCA as a whole. Often three years of support are required to help these ministries take root and grow.
Designating Your Gift
The purpose of Forms A & B
In order to provide the ELCA with an idea of how much money the women of the church contribute and to what causes, the ELCA has requested that all donations submitted to the church by Women of the ELCA be designated. Forms A & B have been provided to assist the Churchwide office of the Women of the ELCA in tracking these gifts so that they can provide more accurate financial reports to the ELCA.
