The LYO is a place where the voices of young people are lifted up in the church.
The Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) is an organization of high-school age young people who are members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America . There are nearly 100,000 ELCA youth across the United States and the Caribbean. This ministry happens through young people discussing and advocating issues of importance to them concerning faith, youth ministry, the ELCA, local communities, and the world.
Facebook: Rocky Mountain Synod LYO The 767 participants in the National Youth Gathering from 47 RMS congregations are invited to share your stories here. Your stories along with these stories from across the ELCA are a powerful witness to youth called to be servant leaders and make a difference in the world.
ELCA National Youth Gathering Stories What a witness! 37,000 ELCA youth and adults serving in the mind and manner of Jesus this past July in New Orleans. Based on Philippians 2:1-8, the 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering was a servant school, incorporated into every component of The Gathering.
