Our Area
The Rocky Mountain Synod is one of 65 synods
in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
(ELCA). This geographic area includes 175 congregations within the
states of Colorado, New Mexico,
Utah, Wyoming and El Paso, Texas. It is the
largest synod, geographically, in the lower 48. Names and locations of our
congregations
are available as well as information about the synod's
rostered leaders, which includes 401 ordained ministers, 30
commissioned associates in ministry, and 4 consecrated diaconal ministers.
The Office of the Bishop
The Rev. Allan C.
Bjornberg serves the Rocky Mountain Synod as its bishop. Our
synod staff serves with the bishop from our offices located at 455
Sherman Street, Suite 160, Denver, Colorado 80203. We can be reached at

The Synod Council
The Synod Council serves
as the board of directors and as the interim legislative authority between
meetings of the Synod Assembly. It may make decisions between meetings of the
Synod Assembly.

Synod Ministries
Boards, committees, teams, and task forces
carry out much of the synod's mission and ministry.
Synod ministries include two outdoor ministry camps, two Lutheran Offices of
Governmental Ministry, nine Lutheran social ministry organizations, and eight
campus ministries.
