Here are just a few things you can do as an advocate for global women:

1. Pray for our brothers and sisters in Madagascar. 
   First, understand that the Malagasy do not see prayer as a passive activity. Prayer not only promotes action, but is in itself an active process. So, Pray for your brothers and sisters. Pray for the issues that we all face, poverty, war, Domestic Violence, Gender and Racial inequality, Women's Voice in Church and Society and equitable access to decent healthcare.

2. Learn about the role of women in your companion synod church and country.

3. Hold book discussions on themes related to global women

4. Don't buy products from companies that exploit women workers.

5. Look for global information every day in the news media. 
   News on Madagascar and Sudan is hard to come by in the American Media. Try www.allafrica.com and choose Madagascar, or Sudan or other African Countries. Also, the BBC World News on line or on National Public Radio can be a good source.

6. Check out the Stand with Africa campaign as well as other ways to get involved with Global mission on www.elca.org . 
   Stay current with what going on in Rocky Mountain and check out the 4 minute Video about Seeds of Hope and Betela Seminary on www.rmselca.org.

7. Try a summer ELCA Global Mission Event. 

8. Look for the ELCA action packet in your congregations. 
   Do you know where yours is? It contains many good resources for Global Mission Education.

9. As you pray and learn, tell the story.
