March 14 - 17, 2002
 

The Executive Board of the Rocky Mountain Synodical Women's Organization met on March 14-17, 2002 at Bethel Lutheran Church (Aurora, CO), St. Peter Lutheran Church (Littleton, CO), and the Denver Marriott Southeast (Denver, CO).  At this meeting the board . . .

  •  Finalized plans for Synod Assembly, Salt Lake City, May 26-28, 2002
  • Clarified goals and structure of the Lydia Donor Program
  • Continued planning for Synodical Convention 2002:
    • Welcomed Karen Setzer as Convention Coordinator
    • Heard convention committee reports from board liaisons
    • Examined activities for alignment with 5 strategic issues
    • Estimated expenses & projected registration fee schedule
    • Scheduled pre-convention congregational unit leadership program 
  • Heard update and made plans for Triennial Gathering 2002:
    • Noted promotional video available for lending
    • Made plans for Rocky Mountain Synod identification
    • Approved participation in Region 2 Fruit Fondue event 
  • Heard results of formal Board Assessment, discussed ways to improve board functioning, and recommitted to a refined Board Covenant
  • Explored two options for next board meeting:
    • Philadelphia, PA (following Triennial) July 14-16, 2002 
    • or Casper, WY August 2-4, 2002
  • Participated in Today's Dreams, Tomorrow's Reality anti-racism workshop (Hours 1-4)
  • Board members express their gratitude for the warm hospitality graciously given by the Metro East Cluster and the South Metro Cluster as well as our Sisters in Christ from Bethel Lutheran Church, St. Peter Lutheran Church, Bethany Lutheran Church, and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in the Denver metropolitan area who provided meeting space and delicious meals.
