Greetings and God's
Blessings,
Hallelujah and hooray for Pat Marruffo. She is our new Views from the Rockies
editor and we are so blessed to have such a willing spirit and wonderful person
to take on such an endeavor as putting all this together and trying to get
everyone's columns, including mine, for our January Views newsletter. All
of you who previously paid for your Views will be receiving free Views
until, well, until we catch up with what we owe you. Thank you for being
patient. As you may or may not know, it was at the Gathering in Colorado Springs
on October 5th and
6th
that Pat stepped up and volunteered to be our
editor. Praise the Lord!!
Please remember if
you have any events that need to be published, or have had an event that you
would like to share with all of us, Pat's email address is
pmarruf1@elp.rr.com.
This is not January but I am looking forward to our January Views
newsletter being printed and sent to you as I take time to slow down and let you
know what's been happening.
Your Rocky Mountain
Synodical Women's Organization (RMSWO) Board has been meeting since December of
last year and we have had one busy year. I have been privileged and honored by
being asked by Clusters in the Rocky Mountain Synod to speak at retreats, teas,
meetings, gatherings, and by Pastor's who would like to see the women in their
congregations learn more about the RMSWO.
At all of the
churches that I have attended one of the Synod as well as Churchwide missions,
is to have all Lutheran women learn two words and use them in all of their
conversations. "Women's Ministry.” Those two words are having an awesome
effect on women of all ages. Younger women relate to Women's Ministry relatively
easier than to WELCA. If you want to use WELCA change one thing – “W”. Use the
word “Women” instead and now it looks as if there is a completely different
implication. Women of the ELCA. Women in Ministry. Wow! What a concept.
I have seen younger
women (18-40) relating and getting excited about Women's Ministry in the
Lutheran churches. Yes and it's exciting for us older (I fit in here. Oh well,
so be it. Ha!) women, too. I have been privileged to have women walk up to me
and say I would like to be a part of that. What can I do?
As Lorraine Spruth
said, "Remember that everything depends upon God's love and blessings and never
cease to be amazed that God chooses
you as God's own and
blesses you to serve". I
would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the women from El Paso,
Texas, New Mexico Cluster, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado for all of the hard work
and hours of working and traveling to make your RMSWO Board what it is and what
it does. The awesome collection of women you elected to your Board have such a
vast array of gifts. They bring honor and glory to God. We are all “but one
person” and yet collectively we honor God in all that we are trying to do for
Women of all churches in the Rocky Mountain Synod.
If you have any
questions or would like to talk with me directly, my phone number is
719-599-3223. I will make the time to be with you, your church or your
organization for any event where you would like to hear about “Women’s
Ministry”, not only at our level but at the Churchwide level, as well.
Until next time as
a good friend of mine says:
“May your troubles be less, your blessings be more and may nothing but
happiness come through your door.”
