| Funding God's Ministry |
Butter Braid bread sales was a good fundraiser. We raised enough money to help buy a refrigerator for the church
Relay for Life - St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cheyenne, WY
We participated as a congregation in “Relay for Life” event. Raising over $5000.
Salad Retreat - St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Albuquerque, NM
We had a salad luncheon to raise money to assist members who were going to convention or retreats and to help with our large babysitting bill. Babysitting is important in allowing young women in our congregation to participate.
Butter em up - St. Andrew Lutheran, Arvada CO
For a fund raiser, our very small WELCA group sold Butter Braid. We contacted the organization in Castle Rock, CO, who gave us the order blanks and delivered the frozen dough to our church. Six women made over $800!
Quilt Raffle - All Saints Lutheran, Aurora, CO
Quilters created a “Grandmother’s Flower Garden” Quilt which is being raffled off to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Last year’s quilt raised over $500. This year, the sky’s the limit!
Thankoffering Service - All Saints, Albuquerque, NM
We have sponsored and led annual Thankoffering services on a Sunday in November. A female pastor presides, and women perform all other roles. Liturgy and prayers are taken from Greater Church publications. Thankofferings are sent to churchwide.
Pie Al-a-mo - St. Paul, Cheyenne, WY
We held a fund-raiser for women interested in attending the
6th Triennial in San Antonio, TX on May 1, 2005 -- our regular "Pie
Social" with a twist. We sold pie and ice cream to bring
interest
to the congregation about Triennial and hopefully a lot of support. We
have also requested assistance from Thrivent for this event.
