What's a Webfeed?

A webfeed is a way of sending you news updates without having to let us know who you are and having to risk giving out your email address.  Webfeeds are also called RSS, for Really Simple Syndication, which is supposed to indicate how easy it is to create a webfeed and to read it!  The technologies involved are "really simple."

What do I need to receive a webfeed?

All you need is a webfeed reader.  There are many available on the internet, and many of you might already have one without knowing it, as many common search engines and email providers come with one.

Webfeed readers can be built into the operating system of your computer or can be accessed via your web browser.
