This position plays a key role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, serving as the first point of contact for church guests, and assisting with a range of administrative, financial, and facility-related tasks. Handbell Choir Director

Position Title:  Handbell Choir Director

General Description:  This person is responsible for the recruiting, training and directing of the handbell choirs, in support of the church’s worship life.

Reports to:  Minister for Music

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and train handbell players for the bell choir.
  • Instruct handbell choir members about their roll as worship leaders in the service.
  • Direct weekly bell choir rehearsals.
  • Attend worship planning, as able.
  • Maintain and care for handbells, chimes and supporting equipment.
  • Research and obtain music and maintain the music library for handbell choir.
  • Facilitate the Little Ringer Bell Choir – an impromptu bell choir for children with flash cards.

Job Requirements:

  • General skills and experience in music ministry and handbell choir.
  • Ability to network and recruit new participants in the handbell choir.
  • Ability to work collegially with the staff and participants of all ages.
  • Positive background check and reference check.
  • Physical ability to set up and take down all equipment for rehearsals and performances.

Job Parameters:  7 hours per week (9 months of the year)

Pay:  $35 / hour

Organist/Accompanist (Part–time)

Trinity Lutheran Church is seeking a skilled Organist to accompany worship services, support congregational singing, and collaborate with the music and worship teams. The position includes playing for weekly services, seasonal liturgies, choir rehearsals, and occasional weddings and funerals (honorarium provided). (approx. 10 hours/week) 

Applicants should have experience as an organist/accompanist, a strong understanding of Lutheran liturgical worship, and be able to support ELCA theology. Attendance at worship planning and staff meetings is expected.
