Bishop Meghan Johnston Aelabouni

The Rev. Meghan Johnston Aelabouni began serving as the fourth bishop of the Rocky Mountain Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) on August 1, 2024.

Born and baptized in the Synod's territory, she brings extensive experience in global mission and theological education—having served in Jerusalem with the ELCA's partner church and earned a doctorate in Religion, Media & Culture.

Bishop Meghan emphasizes connecting the Gospel to our present-world and equipping the church to serve in ever-changing landscapes of ministry.
