Augustana Choir and Colorado Chorale sing Mendelssohn’s glorious “Lobgesang”

The combined choirs numbering 130 voices and a full orchestra will perform Felix Mendelssohn’s radiant “Hymn of Praise.” As a hybrid symphony/cantata, it is a musical meditation on darkness giving way to light.

Dr. Kevin Padworski is the director of both choirs, and it has become an annual tradition to open the fall musical season with a monumental, collaborative concert. Mendelssohn’s “Lobgesang” overflows with brilliance, grandeur, and lyric beauty, as it celebrates the power of music to proclaim hope, gratitude, and light.
