Conference Deans
Within the Rocky Mountain Synod, our Conference Deans serve as essential leaders and connectors - functioning as the primary link between the Synod's Office of the Bishop and the rostered ministers (pastors and deacons) across our region. Each Dean represents one of the Synod's 10 conferences - including Utah; Wyoming; North Colorado; Boulder-Broomfield; Metro West, East & South; Southeast Colorado; North New Mexico; and Border.
Because our Synod covers a wide geographical area, the Conference Dean structure helps ensure that every pastor, deacon, and congregation - whether rural or urban, small or large - stays connected to the broader life of the Synod. Deans enable pastoral care, communication, shared resources, and a sense of belonging.
- Offer support and care to rostered ministers - fostering collegiality, mutual encouragement, and the overall well-being of pastors and deacons.
- Serve as a communications bridge - passing resources and information between the Synod office and local leaders, while bringing local needs and concerns back to the synod staff.
- Encourage collaborative ministry - convening leaders, promoting cooperation among congregations, and supporting shared mission efforts across the conference.
Our Conference Deans help us live into commitment to Relate · Support · Connect · Equip - by building relationships with rostered ministers, offering support and care, fostering connections across congregations, and equipping leaders to serve faithfully and effectively in their ministries.
