ALL-VIRTUAL INTERACTIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCE: A MIGRANT JOURNEY

Tuesday, September 23, 2025 - 5:30pm to 7:00pm

Join others from around the synod for this virtual learning experience. Utilizing first-hand accounts and interactive discussion, participants will learn about the factors driving people to seek refuge in the US and the obstacles they encounter along the way. Each year, thousands of Central American youth leave their families to begin a dangerous journey to the United States. What causes young people to flee their communities? What are the dangers along their journey? How are these vulnerable youth received at the U.S./Mexico border? Beginning in Central America, you will walk alongside youth forced to flee their beloved communities with the hope of a new start in the United States.

This event is hosted by Kathy Chatelaine, Assistant to the Bishop for Global Ministry of the Southeastern Minnesota Synod and Border Servant Corps Board Member, in partnership with AMMPARO and the RMS Global Church Network. Registration required: click here to register. Zoom link will be sent via email after you register.
